| Immigration Settlement & Adaptation Program (ISAP) |
The Immigrant Settlement and Adaptation Program (ISAP) facilitates the adaptation, settlement and integration of newcomers to Canada so that they may become participating Canadian citizens as quickly as possible through bridging services of an economic and social nature. To assist in this process, ISAP funds the delivery of direct services such as:

• Assistance in accessing health services and related referrals • Accessing education, whether grade schools or higher education • English language classes referrals (including LINC class referrals) • Translation and interpretation services • Orientations and information workshops • Referrals regarding government services, including social assistance • Assistance in filing forms for social insurance numbers, driver's licensing, child tax benefit, etc. • Assistance in completing Citizenship & Immigration forms, Study Permits, Work Permit, Student Visa, Sponsorship applications, etc. • Referral to lawyers, legal aid, doctors, etc. • Employment sector specific information sessions • Para-professional counseling services to individuals, families and youth • Youth at risk para-professional counseling • Special Needs Assessment/ Determination,
and other services to assist the newcomers in Canada.
The aim of the ISAP program is to help immigrants adjust to the Canadian way of living, while the program is designed primarily to meet the needs of newly arrived immigrants , eligible recipients may receive ISAP services at any time after their arrival in Canada up to the time they become Canadian Citizens.
